Who needs all the bells and whistles when you have a staff and patrons like this? David, the bartender, was incredible the first night we stopped in during our vacation and was still on his game when we went back for more the next night. Personal service with a friendly smile!! He even took time to introduce us to the local regulars who all made sure we had a good time. Bars across the country could take lessons from this place on the proper way to treat a guest!!

This is the bar where you'll most likely find the average/ordinary guys that fall between twinks and leather, as well as both those types from time to time (this IS Vegas, after all). The proximity of several non-manly gar bars that share the "Fruit Loop" with The Buffalo ensures a steady rotation of lost/curious/hopping tourists of all types, but the mainstay is pool-playing, hard-drinking, lusty guys who might wear Levi's or leather, but fit in no matter what their attire.

Go anywhere else!

I recently took a group of friends out on the town. After stopping by a few great places we found ourselves at the Buffalo Bar. After dealing with unfriendly staff we simply moved on to the other clubs in the loop (a typical night of club hopping). When we finished up the night to head home, we found that my friends car had been towed by the Buffalo staff at a cost of $315.00. I find myself extremely suppressed that while we support all of the businesses in the loop, one business would actually go to this extreme. On many occasions, we have ventured across the street from Piranha (8.5) leaving our vehicles in their parking lot while stopping by the Buffalo. In fact, on more than one occasion, we have left cars there all night while riding together to other clubs. Thank you to the staff at Piranha! The Buffalo is undoubtedly the most unfriendly bar in Vegas, gay or not! This place needs new management and an entire new staff. Save some grief and potently a tow bill, try one of the many other truly friendly establishments in Vegas.

a real gay mans bar

last time i was in las vegas i had a blast here. men are hot. customers are friendly and one particular bartender made you feel right at home. will definitely go back next time im in town. not far from the strip.

Down to earth pool and slot machine bar with Great Priced Strong Drinks!

I really liked how the bartenders and bouncer made me feel welcome! I hope that they can see this posting! Thank you for the strong drinks at an excellent price! Stiff and Cheap Drinks

After going to Charlie's and Piranha and drinking pretty much all night, my friend (along with his group of friends) and I headed to Buffalo for more drinks. The drinks were stiff and cheap which is always a plus in my book. The bartender (I think he's one of the owners) was friendly and helped me to get a designated driver service to get my car back to the hotel which was really nice. I would have given this place a 5th star if it wasn't cash only. Just a warning: This place isn't for those that are looking for twinks, jocks, fashionistas, or 20 something bartenders that look like models. If you are looking for cheap and stiff drinks and a place where you can talk with your friends in a relaxed environment though, then I suggest you give this place a shot.

Great locals place

Several of us stopped by Buffys this afternoon. Had a few great cocktails and gambled a bit. The men were friendly and some hotties. They have great music videos on nice flatscreens. It's somewhat of a dive but a great drinking locals/tourist spot!

Buffalo was very laid back and very lacking in "decor". The word "rustic" would make it seem too charming, I think. It does seem to be a place that everyone stops in for a drink or two before heading to the Gipsy or Piranha & 8 1/2...

I'm from Cincinnati and the boys back home said this was a must-go place. When I got there I remembered that the boys back home have low standards for entertainment and little imagination, so this was their speed. It's just a bar and nothing more. But at least they play those canned Techno video that everyone else plays. However, I did meet a guy there that was into me; the attention was nice. Otherwise, the place was nothing to write home to mother about.

Not impressed

Perhaps it was just a bad night (Sunday)but I was not at all impressed on a recent visit. The bartender was not friendly. He did not even bother to tell us about the beer bust until we had already ordered our first round. There were just a few people in the bar and no one was especially friendly. It was cool to see the memorabilia that they have around the place. everything was covered in smoke residue, unfortunately. I guess that I am spoiled to live in a city that is somke-free. Anyway, this place might be ok on the right night. I have visited it before and it was much better than the last time.

One of my favorite late night spots to hangout in Vegas. Good drinks, various types of men, lots of room and eye candy, gambling if you want it, music can be so-so and a great place to play pool. Only thing this place needs is a dance floor option, otherwise a nice place to start your night.

the buffalo is a low key bar-jeans and tshirts. the drinks are resonably priced compared to other bars around.contrary to some posts here the bartenders i always see - george and karl are terrific.it gets a good mix of tourists and locals but it never gets packed.start here, go to eight across the road,back to buffalo and you will usually have a good night.

I'll have to agree with some of the other reviews. The bartenders are rude. I used to go quite a bit, but quit going because of the bartenders. About half of the clientele is nice, and the other half has a major attitude about how great they think they are. The bars in Vegas are pretty bad. This one has the potential to be really good. To bad the bartenders ruin it.

I have been going to the Buffalo for about 20 years. Some times only a few times a year and more recently weekly. I went to High School and College in Reno, NV and the Buffalo was the first gay bar I went to in 1988. When I relocated to Las Vegas a few years ago, the Buffalo was the first bar I took my partner to for a celebration drink. Over the years, I have made an effort to get to know the bartenders, always saying hello and being friendly. I remember a few of them working at the Buffalo for decades, and it is always great to see a friendly face. My partner speaks several languages and has enjoyed tossing German phrases back and forth with one of the bartenders. More recently, I have gone to the Buffalo for the Smoke-Out, Hairy Bear contests and random afternoons and nights when I just wanted to hang-out with my friends and play some pool. I was even there Monday (May 4, 2009) at 5:00pm when one of the bartenders was conversing with a French customerâ�¦we also started tossing around our French and made new friends. Last night was my Birthday and after a great dinner my partner decided to take me to the Buffalo for a drink. When the bartender took my drink order I mentioned that I was at the Buffalo when he was speaking to the French guy. He got real mad at me, saying that it was not him. He ripped out his wallet and shoved his ID me. Saying â��Iâ��m George, NOT Carlâ�¦.Iâ��m George NOT Carl. My friend thought he was kidding because they have similarities, style of dress etc. He also thought that he was the bartender who could speak other languages. This got him really mad and he did the same thing to himâ�¦pulling out his wallet and yelling, walking away and rolling his eyes at us to other guests a the bar, saying things about us under his breath. I tried to cover up the mistake by saying that I have come to the Buffalo for 20 years, and know that they are two different bartenders. He responded by yelling back at me from the cash register â��IF you have been coming here for 20 years how come you donâ��t know me!â�� Embarrassed and angryâ�¦we put our drinks on the bar and walked out of the Buffalo. I will never go back. Most of us locals who choose to go and spend a little money at local businesses are in the hospitality industry and bust our asses taking care of our customers. Business is slow, the economy is tanking and the gay businesses in Las Vegas are suffering, and closing. The bar had eight people in it, and I got my ass chewed out by the bartender, who doesnâ��t even recognize me after 20 years? Good luck Buffalo~

Wow, came to Vegas and what a huge disappointment!!! It was like stepping back in time. Not one bar was any good. The toilets are filthy. The staff, way past their sell by date. And as for the customers—there must be a trailer park real close!!!

Relaxing place for a beer.

We were lucky enough to be there for a monthly bare chest contest. Great fun. Nice bunch of guys. If we lived in Vegas, this would be a regular stop.

Just Okay

Even though I practically grew up in this bar I'm not terribly fond of it these days. First of all, parking is a joke. A really bad joke. Secondly, there are a couple of EXTREMELY rude bartenders that need to either retire or be fired but since they've been there for the past hundred years or so, I don't see this happening anytime soon. The drinks are good and stiff but the crowd is pretty tired.

Hey guys this is what gay bars used to be like. Men that like men. Friendly crowd, low key atmosphere, and the smell of testoterone in the air. Great place to relax and drink with frinds or to meet new ones. Crowd was varied and saw all types of men.

We visit Vegas about twice a year and always try to find a new place to drink, play pool and have a great time. We always end up at Buffalo. The staff is super friendly, tables are okay and the customers are always having a good time.

Even the Oddest People Are Welcome!

I've lived in Las Vegas for about 13 years now, and have been in the Buffalo, at best, once or twice a year. Each time, I've always been coming from a dinner, or a business event of some kind, and am dressed in a suit & tie. I know full well that this is not their typical clientele's attire, but the staff, and indeed, the patrons have always treated me with great friendliness, and courtesy. That is probably because they feel sorry for this poor fool, who's obviously out of his depth, and doesn't know where he is. Anyway, the Buffalo staff & patrons have made me feel welcome, and that is always appricated. Everybody's money is good in Vegas.

Nice neighborhood bar

My partner and I visited on a Saturday night in June. The drinks were stiff, the crowd was obviously having a good time, and the doorman was really friendly and polite. Reminds me of the neighborhood bars at home in San Diego.

This local's favorite hangout after everything else shuts down. The staff are friendly, the customers are relaxed. Great place to play billiards and darts with friends. Be careful during Smokeout weekends, you won't be able to breathe if you are a non-smoker.
