Aptly named

The least distinctive of the "Fruit Loop" bars, Freezone is literally a free space where no zone has truly been established as consistently as the bearish Buffalo, or the more stylish Piranha and Gipsy across Paradise. There's something for everyone and often nothing for anyone here. Pool, slots, dancing, lounging, all types but not enough of any to dominate except on special events.

could do without the drag shows but its a comfortable bar with a relatively normal crowd. mostly locals with a sprinkling of curious tourists. room to walk around and check out the guys and girls. a mixed crowd. convenient to other bars and the strip.

There's no way around it, Freezone has the look and feel of a student bar. That's not necessarily a bad thing (don't worry, no ripped couches or drink-stained carpets here either!), but if you're not with a group of friends, you're probably in for a pretty quiet evening. Staff are very friendly, and the shooter boys are particularly chatty and cool. Worth checking out to see if it works for you.

WHEN I WENT TO VEGAS THE 1ST TIME, I DID'NT GET TO GO TO ANY GAY CLUBS/BARS. WHEN I WENT THE SECOND TIME, I CAME TO THE GAY SCENE. I LIKE THE FACT YOU ALL CALL IT THE FRUIT LOOP. WHEN MY BF(at the time) AND I, WITH 2 FRIENDS CAME HERE, I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE STRIPPER POLE. I ONLY GOT ON IT ONCE CAUSE I WAS TO SHY. I WAS'NT SWINGING ON IT LIKE SOME PEOPLE DID. NOT TO MENTION THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE THE SHIT, THEN SUDDENTLY FELL OFF..LMFAO!!! PLUS THE DRINK SPECIALS AFTER 3AM, WOWZERS! PEOPLE WERE CHILL. DRINKS WERE STRONG, MUSIC WAS GOOD. If I could rate Zero I would...

Lots of people love this club but I hate it so maybe its just me...I'm willing to accept that. Don't get me wrong the club is fun the atmosphere is cool and the drinks are good, my experience seems to always begin and end with the security at the door...the last and I mean LAST 2 times I've gone I've had issues with their attitude its like they are profiling or something. Situation: Every time I have went I was instructed by the security at the door that "Theres a two drink minimum." Now had I heard this being told to people in front of me or behind me I wouldn't have a problem. Besides the fact that you call yourself 'FreeZone' but then require patrons to buy two drinks would negate that fact. Situation: The last time I've gone I was instructed by security to go straight to the bar upon entering the club, as if I wouldn't abide by the two drink minimum rule. To me this was to much and down right disrespectful, so I told them to kiss off and went across the street to Piranha where it was truly free to get in and I was happy to give them my $$ because their attitudes didn't suck.

The Friendliest Gay Bar in Las Vegas?

I was at Free Zone on July 31st, 2010. It was not too crowded despite it being a Sat. night, but it probably gets busier during the cooler months. Staff were very nice and friendly, especially the shot boys. :) I missed the go-go boys on Thurs. but if they are anything like the shot boys they must be pretty f'ing hot! Free Zone has a dance floor surrounded by tables on one side with a horseshoe-shaped bar and lounge area on the other side. Pool tables are on the far side of the dance floor, and booths are along two walls. I paid $5 for a rum and coke, if I remember right. I will definitely go back, especially if I want to get tanked again. :)

Visited a week ago. Nice and friendly crowd and staff! The waiters are absolutely hot! Just have a look at the picture of the guy with the shots! That's already a reason to visit! Yummy!

Went with my bf after rejecting $20 ea at Pirahna. Very relaxed atmosphere and great music as well. Bar staff and drinks boys were fantastic. Drinks were strong and cheap and Jose with his test tube shots kept paying us visits. (Very hot and wish he'd come home with us.) Played on the Pool Tables for a cpl of hours and had a great night. Only criticism, too many of the opposite sex the night we were there. Overall 7.5/10

Reminds me of the average looking gay bars at home...nothing special about the appearance of this place. But if you can get past that, you can enjoy good music, cheap drinks, and the DJ will play your requests. I came on a Wednesday (underwear) night but got there too late for the free drinks. However, the drinks were cheap and the bartender even paid for a round...

Nice people here but not too ez on the eyes.you may find a couple of attractive guys mixed in between the drag queens and lifer gays. As far as dress code, just roll right out of bed and you'll feel right at home.

This club seemed to have good energy as they try to please both male and female. On a Saturday night the DJ (a straight guy) actually played my request and could beatmix, a combination that is rare especially in gay bars. I returned on a Monday for Karaoke which was surprisingly awful. For Las Vegas to be the "Entertainment Capital of the World", the gay life is tragic. I flew into Vegas for a convention and this bar had its moments.

I used to work here when it first opened about 12 or 13 years ago, I moved 11 years ago, but I still come back every year for my birthday. Stepping into the Free Zone every year makes me feel like I've come home. The drinks are even better now than they were when I worked here.

We went on Thursday night and it was dead, however - great music, pool tables, and a stripper pole in the middle of the dancefloor = good times & great memories. Side effect is a hangover so be careful! Drinks are on the cheaper side and the bartendar was super nice.

i like this club. free admission TO EVERYONE, great drinks and drink specials, good music, (but dj PLEASE play more of a song if the crowd likes it! 1 minute of a song, and 4 minutes of reggaeton is not fair)! lol but other than that no complaint. oh, except the guy girl ratio is not all that great fellas, but the vibe is cool.

Most of the time I read reviews and dont pay attention but for the most part this club really lived up to all the great reviews. The bar staff was extremely nice and the shot servers were really hot. The music was not what I was used to, but it worked really well. Cant wait to go back, cheap drinks that taste like doubles what more do ya want.

Cheap not watered down drinks. Staff was nice (and cute) but the drag show going on the night I was there was pretty bad. More Lesbians than gay men. Ended up here because it was the only one around with a rainbow flag and I had no idea where to go! Could be a good place to start the evening off

Not far from the Buffalo so we walked across. Doorman checked my ID so i was flattered since im 45 years old!!!.The bar was a bit like a cross between a netball changing room and Jerry springers audition suite. Now im no woman hater (my mothe was one) but the balance of lesbians and straight woman to gay men was a bit off balance lets say 10 women for ever gay guy. Beer was cheap and cold,Bar staff could have been friendlier. Everybody was having a great time.Not a place for bears so I shuffled off to Buffalo again.

This was the first Gay bar I have tried in Vegas and I had a blast. It was a lot different than the one I used to be a regular at in my hometown of Detroit. It was much more of a party atmosphere. What a great diverse crowd!! I loved the Pole too! I even gave it a try. One of the bartenders needed to get laid, but other than that I had a wonderful time! I will be back!

I have always enjoyed a mixed crowd more than a sea of poseurs, and this place made me very comfortable. We even witnessed a break dance circle. Definitely not trendy but a friendly crowd. The tunes were a real mix and I heard some tunes I haven't heard in a long, long time. Not for everyone but if you are an experienced traveller with an open mind this is a side of Vegas few visitors ever see.

Have been several times. Bar is always dirty, hot, and stinky. Door men have attitudes. My last visit, they actually cut a friend's license in half in front of him, put each half in a different pocket and dared him to try and get it back. I won't go back there again!
