ABOUT SOLO STRIPS In New York City, at the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in 1992, Tony award-winner director and producer Jerry Mitchell started a striptease at a local bar to donate funds and tips to the cause. What eventually grew into Broadway Bares has spread across the globe, becoming a widely recognized movement with NYC having just commemorated its 25th year. Today, Solo Strips pays homage to the roots of Broadway Bares as the lights go down and the clothes come off.
