The gorilla is right about the unskilled bartenders. I ordered a whiskey soda with well whiskey, bartender made me whiskey and Coke. Asked him to remake it, and told him by "soda" I meany the fizzy water. He remade it with whiskey and ginger ale. Slugged it down, left, never went back.

      Sad sad place
I almost ran after the Uber when we were dropped off! The place was so sad that even the bartender suggested we go to a different bar. I will probably never go back again.

Twink bar riding the coattails of its well-known name
No longer leather and Levis. No longer even macho. The number of pictures of women and drag queens in their GayCities photo album tells you all you need to know. This is no place for rough 'n' tough guys. There used to be a day when Eagle meant "masculine" but that day is long gone. Now that I've cleared that up, The Eagle is kind of average as neighborhood twink bars go. Same tedious gay dance music as everywhere else. Same mediocre unwanted drag shows as everywhere else. Same underwear nights where too few guys show up in underwear like everywhere else. Same unskilled bartenders as everywhere else.

      Cab Ride
How much is the cab ride from the strip? Planning a trip to Vegas, over the Fourth of July weekend.

      not your typical eagle
This place is not that great. The bartender was super nice but they had shot counters. The drinks weren't that strong. Cab ride was a little far and wasn't really worth it. I recommend fun hog ranch is really fun. Great drinks!

      Not the same
I have visited the Eagle LV many times over the years when I am in LV. I specially enjoyed the Fri & Weds underwear nights. But, I stopped by the Fri before Labor Day 2012 and found it to be very quiet. I had slipped on my favorite Calvins and was disappointed at the lack of guys in underwear. Actually the dozen or so guys there didn’t appear to even know it was underwear night. Apparently the Eagle crowd has moved on to other venues.

Worth a cab ride at peak times
Every city that has The Eagle knows the crowd being catered to. In this case, it's the same crowd that has gathered at Buffalo several miles West for much longer, though surely all those Vegas visitors can support two macho gay bars, right? Unlike Buffalo, there's more room (and rooms) here, indoor and out, with more parking than the oft-congested area Buffalo shares with three other gay clubs. Also unlike Buffalo, there's no chance of wanderers from nearby establishments, because there aren't any. That distance from the action combines with the no-nonsense masculine vibe to give this Vegas gay bar some of the best odds of actually meeting and talking to someone (and more...)
